Graduation 2008

There were 40 attendees to the 2008 Graduation held at the Carriage House Inn on November 27, 2008. Although Harbans Badesha (president) was unable to attend due to health reasons, Perri Bamberger (Past President) came to the rescue and hosted the event. There were 3 CCP graduates and 1 CRSP graduate this year. The CCP graduates were Ming He,Kathy Hearn and Diana Froom. The Credit Specialist graduate was Sheldon Kinghorn.

The speaker for the evening was Elizabeth Scott of the University of Calgary. Ms. Scott spoke on the merits, recognition, and the great accomplishments of the graduates and award winner. She also emphasized on the importance of continuing our education as we close one chapter and go on to "Continue Your Story" in life.

Entertainment was provided by the Mount Royal Music Conservatory String Quartet.

The Calgary chapter also received the  Quaker Oats Trophy this year which was presented by Steve Cooke (National Chairman, President & Dean).

The Local Chapter Winners are:

a) Highest Overall Average in four-year CCP program: Ming He

b) W.H. Stern Award  (Student with highest four year average of  Calgary & Edmonton Chapters combined): Ming He

c) Second Highest Overall Average in four-year CCP program: Diana Froom

d) Highest Mark in Credit Management: Dixon Quong

e) Highest Mark in Managing Information Systems: Kathy De Chantal

f) Highest Mark in Business Law (a tie): Ryan Alix & - Kathy De Chantal 

g) Highest Mark in Advanced Credit Management: Ryan Alix

h) Highest Mark in Micro & Macro Economics: Ryan Alix

i) Highest Mark in Financial Accounting Fundamentals: Ryan Alix

National Award Winners are:

a) Highest Mark in Micro & Macro Economics - Ryan Alix

b) Second Highest Mark in Financial Accounting Fundamentals: (Tied with a student in Manitoba) - Ryan Alix
