2007 Graduation Awards & Presentations

The Calgary Chapters Graduation ceremony was held at the Sheraton Cavalier Hotel on November 8, 2007.  Guests were entertained by the musical duo of Sheldon Zandboer and John Hind, who played during cocktails, dinner and intermission.  Christa Chilton, FCI gave the valedictory address.  In addition to their certificates and bursaries, the graduates and award recipients were presented with lovely bouquets which were graciously donated by Canada Safeway.  A special word of appreciation goes out to each of the sponsors listed below who presented $200 bursaries to our award winners.

In addition to the normal presentations, we recognized Bill Fairbairn, FCI Emeritus who was in attendance.  Bill was honoured with a standing ovation when it was announced that this is his fiftieth year as a member of the Credit Institute.  Margaret Higgins, FCI was presented with a gift and bouquet in appreciation for her fourteen years of service as a Board Member and National Director for the chapter.  Our newly elected National Director, Bill Schmidt, FCI Emeritus, read a letter of encouragement and congratulations to the graduates from Rodger Noel, ACI, President and Dean of the Credit Institute.  It was a lovely evening and an enjoyable time was had by everyone.
